Dr. J. Tod Pelly, D.C

Dr. John Tod Pelly is a proud resident of the beautiful North Shore of Vancouver. He grew up attending Seymour Heights Elementary followed by Sentinel Secondary, where he graduated with the Class of 1996 as one of three class Valedictorians and holder of the BC Decathlon title. Tod continued on to take a track scholarship at Simon Fraser University, where he obtained All-American status three times. At SFU, Tod studied Kinesiology and took interest in becoming a physiotherapist. Growing up and pushing his body to its limits, he had found himself in a physio environment regularly due to a chronic hamstring problem. However, without getting the results he was hoping for, he decided to try a chiropractor – and he got amazing results. It turned out it wasn’t his hamstring after all; It was his pelvis putting too much pressure on his hamstring. Inspired by his results, Tod decided he wanted to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic, and packed his bags for California where he attended the Southern California University of Health Sciences, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2005. Tod also obtained a Post-Doctorate certification in the Gonstead System of Analysis and Technique and after practicing in San Diego, California from 2005-2006, he was thrilled to return to his hometown where he founded The Pelly Clinic in April 2007. Tod is passionate about giving back to communities around the world via Chiropractic. He has volunteered his services for The Ride to end AIDS, and has provided Chiropractic care on several missions to impoverished countries, including El Salvador, Guatemala, Thailand, Laos, and most recently, his mission “A Small Step” in Nepal. In October 2019, Tod was named 2019 Chiropractor of the Year for North America, awarded by The Master's Circle Global (TMCG). Dr. Pelly was humbled to be the recipient of this distinguished honour. Outside of the Pelly Clinic, Tod resides in North Vancouver with his wife Julie, son Reid and daughter Kasey. Tod enjoys spending time with family at his cabin at Sakinaw Lake, water skiing, running, hiking, cheering on the Canucks and hitting the slopes on the mountains of the north shore and Whistler. Tod is also an avid soccer player, proudly playing for the NVFC from childhood into his adult years and now coaching his son Reid's team, the NVFC Rangers, as well as his daughter Kasey's team, the NSGSC Wildcats.

Dr. Federico Angel

Dr. Federico Angel is originally from Bogota, Colombia and has spent the last 20 years calling the Northshore home. Growing up Fed was heavily involved in various community sports with hockey as his main passion. After graduating West Vancouver secondary school in 2005, he played two seasons of Junior hockey prior to attending the University of Victoria. At UVic he received a Bachelor of Science of Kinesiology while also playing for the Varsity hockey team.

Upon Graduation, he had the opportunity to be the head trainer for the Victoria Grizzlies Jr. A hockey team, and it was here that he discovered his passion for Chiropractic. He was amazed how chiropractic care could help with injuries but more importantly how it could enhance the quality of life of an individual.

Fed attended Life Chiropractic college West and graduated in 2018 magna cum laude with academic and clinical honors as well as the Presidential award. His passion for service has led him to volunteer in various chiropractic service trips around the world. Most recently he has provided chiropractic care to people in Fiji and India. He has also been a member of the medical and performance team for the Summer and Winter Dew tour, Nitro Circus Action sports and the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) tour. Fed loves to work with athletes of all ages and skill level.

He currently resides in North Vancouver with his fiance Erin and their dog Pepperoni. When he's not in the office he enjoys playing hockey and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible whether that is hiking, fishing or snowboarding.

Fed is excited to become a member of The Pelly Clinic and share his passion for service and chiropractic with the people of the Lower Mainland.

Dr. Rachel Roberts, Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Rachel Roberts grew up in Waterloo, Ontario where she was introduced to chiropractic care at a young age. As a competitive dancer of 15 years, injury accumulation was unavoidable. Corrective chiropractic care not only kept her performance at optimum and reduced recovery time but kept her overall healthier and higher functioning. With a new mindset around healing and the human body, Rachel knew she wanted to be a chiropractor. She obtained her bachelors degree in biology from Wilfrid Laurier University and graduated valedictorian, honours magna cum laude from Life Chiropractic College West. Rachel is a principled chiropractor with a strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care and helping people to reach their optimal innate potential. Her passion lies in advocating for women's health and is committed to providing the whole family with insight on the importance of developing a healthy lifestyle and put your family on a path to wellness. When she is not in the office, she can be found with coffee walking the sea wall and exploring all that BC has to offer. Dr. Rachel is very excited to become apart of the North Vancouver community and is ready to serve you!

Dr. Angela Do

Dr. Angela grew up in Vancouver, BC where she studied at the University of British Columbia and obtained her B.S. degree in Kinesiology. She then continued her studies in the Bay Area, California where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree graduating with Magna Cum Laude and Clinical Honors at Life Chiropractic College West. Dr. Angela has also served in Chiropractic mission trips to Fiji and Mexicali, Mexico. During her earlier years, Dr. Angela sustained a serious back injury while working out which prompted her to begin receiving Chiropractic care. She experienced the wonders of receiving care as she was able to recover quickly and return back to her daily routine. Dr. Angela knew that this was the profession that she wanted to specialize in and devote her career towards. Dr. Angela is a huge health advocate and loves to share her knowledge in helping others live their life most optimally and holistically. She is obsessed with keeping an active and balanced lifestyle, personal growth and building healthy connections. On her free time you can find her breakdancing, working out in the gym, bouldering, trying out new healthy recipes and activities!

Rachel McDonnell, Registered Massage Therapist

Rachel graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2004 and has been in full-time practice in North Vancouver ever since. She brings a strong enthusiasm and passion for holistic healthcare to her practice combining hands-on treatment with therapeutic exercise instruction and has extensively furthered her education through courses in myofascial work, athletic rehabilitation, personal training through CAN FIT PRO and in-depth anatomy exploration.

Rachel takes a special interest in the outdoor activities that living on the North Shore provides, being an avid hiker and runner who has enjoyed participating in marathons and local trail runs over the last several years. She is a member of BC Archery, and is working towards her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Rachel spent 4 years volunteering with Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, both as a Big Sister and on their Activities Committee focusing on recreational activities for the Little Sisters to help share her love of the outdoors and benefits of healthy living.

Carla was born and raised in the heart of North Vancouver, where she gained her love of sports, nature and mountain biking.  During high school, she was an avid basketball and soccer player and still has a great love of sports of all kinds, often trying out new activities, like bouldering or axe throwing.  She also enjoys cooking new recipes, having nerf battles, going for Pokemon Go adventures, and playing video games.  Carla is newly married and lives in North Vancouver with her husband, and their cat Jade. A variety of injuries led her to investigate healing from health care practices of various disciplines where she discovered the benefits of massage therapy.  After experiencing its value firsthand, she found her calling in massage therapy and decided to pursue this field of study.  She graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy and has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. Carla's approach to massage therapy is tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. She uses a combination of techniques, primarily Swedish massage and stretching, to address specific areas of tension and discomfort.  She provides guidance on stretching, strengthening, postural modifications, and self-care practices to help clients maintain their progress outside of sessions.  Her previous injuries and life experiences have bolstered her passion for helping people navigate their path to wellness and achieve their health goals.

Karen was born and raised on the North Shore. She loves it so much she has never lived anywhere else! But she has travelled extensively, as one of her favourite pastimes is exploring the world at large with her family. After graduating high school she earned a Hospitality Administration Diploma from Vancouver Community College. This led her on her career path until fate struck and she ended up in the Jewellery Trade for the next 25 years. Her interactions with clients helped her see what she enjoyed most in life … PEOPLE!! Karen has always found connecting with people easy, and this gift coupled with her organizational skills makes her a great fit for the Pelly Clinic. As Office Manager, she brings warmth to every interaction with patients and keeps the office running smoothly. When not working you can find her enjoying time with friends, watching the Seahawks (GO HAWKS) or out with her family on their boat cruising the local islands.

Emma Tuck, Chiropractic Assistant

Emma was born and raised on the North Shore, attending Seymour Heights Elementary and Windsor Secondary. She is currently enrolled at Capilano University in the Associates of Psychology degree program, and plans to attend Simon Fraser University for Elementary Education to become an elementary school teacher. Emma LOVES kids, and has been working with them from a young age. She also enjoys kickboxing, reading, singing, coffee, and of course: her black lab, Chevy and her cat, Oliver. In her free time, Emma can be found playing with her dog, trying new restaurants, attempting new recipes, exploring the North Shore and making to-do lists! Emma is thrilled to be part of the Pelly Clinic team, and is beyond excited to get to know the amazing community of patients and friends of the clinic.

Rose Haley, Chiropractic Assistant

Rose has spent most of her life in Greater Vancouver, adventuring into local and regional forests to breathe deep and explore the wildlife. In these moments Rose's passion for herbal medicine and holistic health blossomed. Using her attention to detail, computer skills and organizational senses Rose has applied her time to helping the healing community through bridging technical gaps. Her commitment to her own recovery after several car accidents has shown her that a well rounded, multi-pronged approach to attaining relief is the best way to maintain improvement. "We are complex beings that require more than just an appointment or a pill. The Pelly Clinic takes the utmost care in testing and offers many avenues of treatment to help people return to enjoying their lives."

Sharlene Burr, Chiropractic Assistant

Sharleen joined The Pelly Clinic after spending many years as a Personal and Executive Assistant in Family Office settings. She is very happy to now be part of a new Family Office at The Pelly Clinic. From the moment she walked into the office, she felt right at home. Sharleen has lived on the North Shore for over 20 years, raising her daughter in the beautiful community of Lions Bay. After taking a 3-year hiatus in Scottsdale, Arizona, she resituated herself back on the North Shore. It would now take a lot of convincing to make her want to leave it again! She is a real people person and thrives in settings where she can connect with people, which makes her time working at The Pelly Clinic so enjoyable because both patients and staff are such lovely people. She enjoys yoga, podcasts, reading and spending time with her family and close friends, whether it be travelling, dining out or forest bathing (yes, that's a thing!). You may find her "swimming" in the trails of Lynn Valley Headwaters a few times a week. Pickleball is also a new skill she has acquired and is looking to playing more in the future. Anyone up to a doubles match? Sharleen looks forward to keeping her body and mind healthy by incorporating chiropractic adjustments and BrainTap at The Pelly Clinic, as well as using her large collection of essential oils to make her lotions and potions.

Jessica DeMusson, Chiropractic Assistant & Social Media Co-ordinator

Originally hailing from sunny South Africa , Jessica recently relocated to beautiful North Vancouver along with her loving husband and two adorable dogs. With her warm and inviting personality, she brings a unique blend of people skills and exceptional office support. Outside of work she finds immense joy in spending time in nature with her two furry companions, or out with her husband exploring the culinary delights that the city has to offer!

Julie Pelly, Marketing & Administration

Julie grew up in Vancouver, BC where she attended York House School and then went on to complete her post-secondary degree at McGill University and Simon Fraser University. From a young age, her favourite activities were figure skating and the performing arts, taking the stage in musicals and drama productions at York House, Saint George’s and McGill University. In her young adult years, Julie developed a love for running, and has completed a variety of races from 10km to Marathon distance. She's also proud to have conquered the gruelling “Seek the Peak” race from Ambleside Beach to the Peak of Grouse Mountain - a North Vancouverite "must do". Coincidentally, Julie met her husband Tod shortly before running the Las Vegas Marathon in 2010. At the time she was struggling with a recurring issue with her pelvis due to her extensive training schedule. After starting regular adjustments with Dr. Pelly, she was able to run pain-free for the first time in months. Julie has spent her professional years working in the world of Communications, Marketing and Public Relations. A career highlight was the five years she spent working for eBay Inc., managing worldwide communication programs implemented throughout the global offices which housed over 10,000 employees. More recently Julie has been working in Corporate Communications in the Mining Industry, concurrently with her other job as mom to her and Dr. Pelly’s young children, Reid and Kasey. Since moving to North Vancouver in 2011, Julie has come to fall in love with “the best place on earth” and wholeheartedly feels that the North Shore is where her heart is. She is grateful for the warm community and surrounding beauty, and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to both support the wonderful team at the Pelly Clinic, as well as meet the many amazing patients that come through the clinic’s doors every day.

Alana Banks, Bookkeeper

Alana is a technical accountant and sustainable business strategist. She has managed local micro-businesses in Vancouver since 2001, gaining experience working with leading accounting software systems. Alana has a BA in International Relations from UBC, a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from BCIT, and advanced certificate in Sustainable Business Leadership from BCIT, Level one certification from the Natural Step and is a Quickbooks ProAdvisor. In 2011, Alana launched Archetype Business Services Inc., a boutique business consulting and bookkeeping firm specializing in helping micro businesses run smoothly and sustainably. When not busy working or updating her educational credentials, Alana can be found enjoying the abundant culinary scene in Vancouver.
